Vehicle interaction controls in NSW mines consultation now closed

Consultation on the NSW Resources Regulator’s Vehicle Interaction Controls in NSW Mines Discussion Paper is now closed.

Thank you to those stakeholders who provided feedback throughout the 6-week consultation period.

Your valuable feedback will help the Regulator determine its regulatory position on safety measures to reduce adverse vehicle collisions and near-misses at mine sites.

Several pathways are being considered, including the evaluation of risk-based systems that can be implemented at mines and quarries as part of the Regulator’s Safety Management System, as well as continued education and engagement.

The Regulator hopes this feedback will lead to a decline in the number of incidents being reported as the safety and well-being of all workers in the resources sector is paramount.

Further updates on the outcome of this consultation will be shared as they become available.
