Report released into dangerous blasting incident at Albury Quarry

An investigation report and incident animation video has been released following a dangerous blasting incident that occurred at Albury Quarry, Ettamogah NSW in April 2018.

During the routine overburden blast large pieces of debris and rock were launched into the air striking three light vehicles that remained in an exclusion zone at the quarry. While there were no injuries, workers, and members of the public in the exclusion zone at the time of the incident were at risk of being seriously injured.

The report describes the investigation conducted by the Regulator into the cause and circumstances of the incident and provides the investigation findings and recommendations to industry.
