Mine Safety Performance Report 2018-19

The Mine Safety Performance Report for 2018-19 has been released following collation and analysis of industry work health and safety reports, industry incident notifications and our compliance and enforcement data.

The report features an important suite of measures to help guide future actions to improve health and safety performance and allow industry to benchmark their performance against others in their sector.

While the NSW mining industry has continued to minimise the risk to health and safety of workers, there were two fatal injuries, 93 serious injuries, 295 lost time injuries and 959 total recordable injuries reported to us in 2018-19.

Overall, decreasing rates of injury/illness and incident notifications were observed across all measures, except for serious injury notifications.
