Key compliance priorities for January to June 2025 published

The Resources Regulator has released its Compliance Priorities for January - June 2025 (PDF, 773.45 KB), outlining key compliance priorities and proactive assessment programs for the next six months.

By publishing our compliance priorities, we aim to increase transparency, community and industry confidence in our regulatory activities, and increase levels of voluntary compliance.

Proactive assessment programs from January to June 2025 will include mine safety assessment programs for coal and metalliferous mines (focus areas will include fire and explosion, air quality, roads, and electrical engineering).

Meanwhile, Mining Act assessment programs will focus on five areas including revegetation, landform establishment, and decommissioning.

Strategic projects outlined in the priorities include a review of the NSW mining competency system and development of the Adverse vehicle interaction technical reference guide.

The Regulator’s approach is guided by a strategic plan and compliance enforcement strategies to ensure consistent and effective oversight.
